Aging, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse

About Us

Our Goals

  • Build awareness of the unique mental health and substance abuse issues facing older adults.
  • Promote education and leadership among stakeholders.
  • Make a positive impact on service delivery systems in New Jersey by promoting dialogue and collaboration       to improve the well-being of older adults.

The New Jersey Partners, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is a broad-based coalition open to professionals, older adults, consumers, and caregivers.

We began in 1999 when seven New Jersey Professionals met with representatives of four other states as part of a national training effort to build state and local coalitions. The focus was on the needs of older adults with a mental health or substance abuse problem.

As we have grown over the years, we have incorporated and obtained 501(c)3 status to further strengthen our organization.

Throughout the year, we host meetings at various locations across the state. Each meeting focuses on a specific topic of interest related to older adults, mental health, or substance abuse. The meetings provide access to the latest information and resources available in New Jersey, and are a great opportunity to network with others who share similar concerns.
